Nick Kempt is a multidisciplinary creative director, animator, and visual artist with over 25 years’ experience translating complex ideas into engaging visual stories. As founder of ZAC Creative, he has produced motion design and animation for major clients including RAC, Lotterywest, NAB, Containers for Change, and Rio Tinto.
Nick has directed animated series for ABC, SBS, and the BBC, earning recognition for his playful, character-driven storytelling. His pilot God Squad received a WA Screen Award and an AACTA nomination for Best Short Animation, highlighting his ability to balance humour, cultural depth, and social commentary.
He has collaborated widely with Aboriginal organisations, creating culturally responsive content that communicates important social and community messages. Beyond screen-based work, Nick explores the synchronicity of sound and image through large-scale audio-visual projections, and produces sculptural works — insects and masks inspired by the Darling Scarp and his Anglo-Indian ancestry.
