I am a Noongar (Willman, Ballardong), Yinjabarndi, and Karijarra Artist living on Wardandi Boodja, with a lifelong passion for creating and crafting. Growing up in Geraldton on the West Coast, I developed a deep connection to the ocean and a fascination with the world beneath its surface. The vastness of the ocean, our unique landscapes, and the native creatures of this land continue to inspire my work today.
I work across painting, textiles, and crochet, with a strong focus on bright, bold colours and creating texture wherever possible. I am particularly drawn to the interplay of contrast and pattern, whether through brushstrokes or yarn. My crochet practice—exploring the balance between structure and creativity—has evolved into a distinctive beanie brand called Chaos Theory, known for its vibrant colour combinations and intricate designs. For the last two winters, I’ve displayed and sold my work at the Bunbury Markets.
In 2024, I had the exciting opportunity to co-produce the inaugural Noongar Arts Program (NAP) Fashion Show. This experience opened a new creative path for the NAP, blending art and fashion in innovative ways, with two of the Artists exhibiting their garments at Revealed 2025 at PICA. It has ignited a new passion and direction for NAP, with conversations and planning starting for the next NAP Fashion Show 2026.
I am currently participating in the Noongar Country Curator Mentorship at Bunbury Regional Art Gallery (BRAG). I was honoured that the first exhibition I curated was the 25th Anniversary of the Noongar Country, which is a prestigious community event. The theme was ‘Celebrating Continuing Connection to Noongar Boodja’ we had 52 Artists enter with over 110 pieces of Artwork from all around Noongar Boodja. For the first time the exhibition took over all of the galleries in BRAG and ran for 4 months, we had close to 4000 visitors during the Noongar Country Exhibition.
In 2023, I was honoured to win the RCRMT NAIDOC Art Prize, and I remain an active member of the Noongar Arts Program.
Through my work, I strive to honour my heritage while pushing creative boundaries. I am passionate about cultural expression, artistic experimentation, and sharing knowledge with others—whether through curating, crocheting, or collaborating. This journey continues to be one of deep personal meaning, exploration, and joy.
